creative process for authors

Welcome to the HEARTH.

A long-form sanctuary for people being called into authorship — not just to write a book, but to become the one who can stand steady in their voice, power, wisdom and sovereignty.

THE HEARTH is a deeply relational, somatic and psyche informed initiation space. Not simply a coaching program.

The Hearth supports you in the identity transformation required to bring a meaningful book into the world — whether that book is written for leadership, legacy or personal truth.

The Hearth is that steady center of light and inspiration where we’ll gather to receive warmth and nurturance, and stoke our inner creative flames.

Be supported in your becoming. And feel so warmed + held in the process.

YOUR SOUL HAS SPOKEN.

and yet…

Maybe it whispered, maybe it came roaring—but you have undeniably received the directive from your soul to write a book.

You’ve been building a body of work as a healer, coach, or creative visionary, and you know putting it all into words is going to help so many people, not to mention taking the embodiment of your message further and deeper.

Truth: a book transforms its author first before it transforms its readers.

You’ve lived a story that insists on expression—for you to give it the attention it deserves, to share your hard-won wisdom with others on a path similar to yours, to continue your alchemical work of turning the lead of your life into gold.  You know that word alchemy is the most potent path to harnessing the story-medicine you came to share with the world.

You heard the knock.  Maybe you made some initial progress.  But you stalled out. Life got busy, and those writing dates on your calendar got swallowed by hungrier, louder, and more urgent needs.

You get discouraged, fearing that book writing will further deplete you—after all, it’s just one more thing vying for your attention and energy.  Yet you forget that your soul is nudging you toward this project because it is meant to deeply nourish and feed you

You run through your day, capably handling business tasks, nurturing your community, creating content, but it’s all for someone else at the end of the day.

When is it your turn?

The Hearth is for courageous creatives who feel a quiet (or not-so-quiet) soul calling to write — whether that book is a memoir, a message, or a body of lived wisdom asking to be shaped and shared.

This is not a hustle-your-book-into-existence program. And it’s not only about craft.

Authorship changes people. It reorganizes identity, voice, self-trust, and our relationship to the world.

The Hearth exists to support that transformation — with warmth, depth, and steady accompaniment.

Here, we gather around a central fire: a place of tending, truth-telling, and sustained devotion. A place where a book is not forced, but grown — and where the person writing it is supported just as much as the pages themselves.

Holding the early dream of a book can feel like cupping a flame — fragile, alive, and easily extinguished without the right conditions.

The Hearth offers those conditions.

Jaime is a river boat captain. Reading the currents, the winds, the morale and spirit of her crew and making adjustments so all souls land safe, sound, and accomplished.

Said another way, Jaime tracks the needs of the group and keeps enough tension for us to grow as writers within crushing the fire and eros and passion that is moving through us. Jaime is a writing coach with a huge heart and sensitive and attuned spirit. Being guided by her was a pleasure.

The Hearth is for you if:

You feel called to write a book that matters — even if you don’t yet know exactly what it will become

You sense that the hardest part isn’t the writing, but trusting yourself enough to take your voice seriously

You sense that the story, wisdom and lived truth you carry is ready to be spoken, shaped, and carried with integrity

You want support that honors both craft and soul, structure and somatic reality

You don’t want to do this shallowly, quickly, or alone

Some participants are early in the process.
Some are in the messy middle.
Some are refining, editing, or preparing to share their work more publicly.

What they share is not a stage — but a threshold.

Guidance rooted in experience, not theory

The Hearth reflects my two decades of lived experience supporting writers through every stage of authorship — from first spark to publication and beyond.

Within this container, you receive:

  • clear strategic orientation so you’re not wandering or second-guessing every step

  • craft guidance that serves the heart of your message rather than overriding it

  • support for inner critic dynamics, fear, and creative resistance

  • somatic and psyche-reverent approaches to sustaining creative work over time

Everything inside the Hearth has been tested, refined, and included because it actually helps people finish meaningful books without abandoning themselves in the process.

Nothing is here to keep you busy.
Everything is here to keep you resourced.

THE HEARTH IS DIFFERENT BECAUSE IT HOLDS THE WHOLE ARC

The Hearth is not just about starting a book.
And it’s not just about finishing one.

It is about staying with yourself through the full arc of authorship — and emerging with work you can stand behind, a voice you trust, and a relationship to your creativity that will last far beyond a single project.

This is why the Hearth exists. And why it works.

Inside the Hearth, you’ll receive:

Jaime Fleres Book Coach

Private initiation calls with Jaime

You’ll receive two private calls with Jaime during your time in the Hearth
(three if you choose the 12-month immersion).

These calls act as threshold moments — places to pause, orient, and receive clear reflection, strategic guidance, and generous support wherever you are in your authorship journey.

Opening Call
At the beginning of the Hearth, we’ll clarify the deeper intention behind your book, name the threshold you’re standing at, and establish a path forward that honors your life + your nervous system. You’ll leave with a clear sense of focus, self-trust, and how to engage the Hearth in a way that truly serves you.

Integration Call
Your second call can be scheduled whenever you feel the need for personalized, focused support — whether that’s working through structure, refining an outline, meeting resistance, or navigating a moment of doubt or decision.

12-Month Participants Bonus call
An additional call offers space to re-orient, metabolize the changes already underway, and consciously step into the next phase of your becoming as an author.

Multiple hands of diverse skin tones are stacked together in a gesture of unity or teamwork.

Twice-Monthly Small Group Coaching & Council

Twice each month, you’ll gather with a small, intimate group of resonant creatives for live coaching and collective witnessing. These sessions are not lectures or trainings. They are spaces of orientation, reflection, and transmission.

Each Hearth tender has room to bring:

  • questions about any stage of the writing process

  • places of confusion, resistance, or self-doubt

  • moments of insight, courage, or breakthrough

  • what is stirring in life, body, or psyche that is impacting the work

Jaime offers her signature style of support — a blend of precise authorship strategy, deep listening, and spiritual mentorship — meeting you exactly where you are without rushing or bypassing.

Here, your process is not pathologized or minimized. It is understood as part of the initiation itself.

Tuesdays @ 12:30pm ET | March 10 + 24 | April 14 + 28 | May 12 + 26 | June 9 + 23 | July 14 + 28 | Aug 11 + 25 | Beyond: TBA

Weekly “Write Now” Rituals

This is where the work becomes embodied.

Each week, we gather for a 90-minute writing ritual designed to help you return to the page again and again — without force, isolation, or burnout.

Our time together includes:

  • a brief landing practice (meditation, somatic inquiry, movement, or contemplative reading)

  • intention-setting for the writing session

  • a sustained, uninterrupted hour of writing

  • a simple closing to mark what was made possible by showing up

These weekly gatherings establish rhythm, safety, and continuity — allowing your creative fire to stay lit over time, rather than flaring and extinguishing.

This is how writing becomes a relational practice, not a solitary struggle..

Access to The Author Adventure Academy

You’ll have access to a curated suite of on-demand courses covering the full arc of authorship — available to you as needed, rather than imposed as a rigid curriculum.

These resources support:

  • clarifying and committing to a book concept

  • writing a strong and coherent first draft

  • self-editing with discernment and care

  • choosing a publishing path aligned with your values

  • moving from draft to completion without losing heart

The Academy exists to provide craft, clarity, and orientation, so you’re never reinventing the wheel — while still leaving room for your unique voice, timing, and process. This is structure in service of soul, not the other way around.

See the FAQ for course details.

Jaime’s Book The Author Adventure

Each participant receives a copy of The Author Adventure — a practical, experiential guide for writers navigating transformational nonfiction and memoir.

This book reflects the same philosophy as the Hearth itself: that writing a meaningful book is both a creative endeavor and a personal initiation.

Organized into four stages — planning, writing, editing, and publishing — it offers grounded tools, reflections, and guidance drawn directly from Jaime’s decades of experience supporting authors.

Many participants use this book as:

  • a steady companion during uncertain moments

  • a grounding reference between sessions

  • a reminder that what they’re experiencing is normal, meaningful, and navigable.

Non fiction book writing support

Private Community Connections Via Telegram

Between live sessions, you’ll be held inside a private Telegram community designed for ongoing connection and support.

Here you can:

  • share wins, questions, and challenges as they arise

  • be witnessed by others who understand the depth of this work

  • receive short-form guidance and reflections from Jaime

Jaime offers direct support and expert riffs in the space on Tuesdays and Thursdays, helping you stay oriented without overwhelm.

The community exists to reduce isolation, normalize the process, provide continuity, and remind you that you are not doing this alone.

Why the Hearth is such a potent cauldron for your creativity

Most writing programs focus on output.

They teach structure, strategy, consistency, and accountability — all important things, which are woven into the fabric of the Hearth. BUT these programs often miss the deeper truth:

The greatest challenges of authorship are not technical. They are psychological, emotional, and somatic.

Writing a book asks us to:

  • take ourselves seriously in new ways

  • make private knowing public

  • stay present with doubt, exposure, grief, and desire

  • trust a voice that may be changing as we write

Without the right kind of containment, many writers stall not because they lack discipline — but because the identity shift feels unsupported.

The Hearth was created to meet authors at that deeper level.

The Hearth is intentionally long-form, relational, and spacious. Because authorship unfolds in cycles. Clarity comes in waves. Voice strengthens through rhythm and devotion, not force.

By offering both structure and spaciousness, the Hearth allows writers to move at the pace required for integrity, not urgency.

Here, progress is measured not only in pages written — but in self-trust gained, nervous systems settled, and voices stabilized.

THERE WAS A TIME WHEN…

We gathered around the hearth to share stories, connect, laugh, learn, love, and be warmed.

We’d gaze at the stars and share our dreams and fears.

We’d see and celebrate one another for whatever life milestones we’d been navigating.

Time was slow and spacious—honey-like.  Gathering around a central flame brought solace and strength.

Tending the sacred fire was a revered role in many ancient societies.  The sacred fire shows up in the myth of Prometheus, the bringer of fire to humanity, against the wishes of the Gods. In ancient Greek towns they made altars to the goddess Hestia at a public hearth containing the sacred fire, which held together the fabric of family and community.  When travelling to new lands, they would bring a spark of this central fire with them to link the new with the old.

Hestia became Vesta to the Romans, and she too had a shrine placed at the center of every household and every city’s central public hearth.  Vesta’s eternal fire was literally thought to ensure the safety of the Roman empire itself. The vestal virgins of ancient Rome, the priestesses of Vesta, were charged with keeping the sacred flame alive.  These vestals contributed to the continuation of royal blood lines and were granted special sovereign powers by the state.  Vesta is associated with the astrological archetype of Virgo, who brings spirit into matter in order to honor it (which is what book writing is all about).

The Celtic goddess Brigid is associated with the hearth’s warmth and the creative spark of inspiration. In Norse traditions, Frigg was the goddess of the hearth and keeper of wisdom and prophecy.

The Hearth is a potent technology we can still tap into.

For we who are wildly creative, we’ve had to learn to walk in our own fire, how to tend and nurture our own inner creative flames.  If not well tended, they can become a wildfire that burns us out or scatters us to the winds.  The fire is alive, but it’s dispersed or diminished, chaotic or unpredictable.

The Hearth gives our creative fire a healthy container.  It helps to potentiate our fires, to harness them for specific ends.  It’s the intentional sacred use of our fire.  We use our fire, our creative impulse, to keep us warm and nurtured, rather than scattered and depleted.

At the Hearth, we become the pillar of light we were always meant to be.  So we can shine our creative gifts out into the world for others to receive and be warmed and nurtured by.

If you know in your heart of hearts that you have a book inside of you wanting to come out, but you have no idea how to GET it out...there is no better guide for that journey than Jaime. I’d been writing my book for ten years and hadn’t been able to finish it…unti I met Jaime.

The biggest breakthrough came when I finally realized that the book I thought I was supposed to write wasn't the book that wanted to be written.  I would never have gotten to that awareness without Jaime’s gentle guidance and encouragement. I swim in pretty deep water and Jaime was totally able to meet me there.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • Right away, you’ll receive access to:

    • Rocking your First Draft

    • Self-Editing Superstar

    • Choose your Publishing Path

    • Draft to Done

Coming early in the new year, if not already waiting for you upon your arrival at the Hearth, is Author Activation and Power Proposals.

  • Need a little extra private support?  Want expert eyes on your manuscript?  We’ve got you covered.

As a Hearth Tender during our active work together, you’ll enjoy special rates on private coaching calls and manuscript review.  The rates are $300 for a 60-minute call with Jaime and $200 with a Whale Song team coach.  Manuscript review is $350 per 4,000 words, and includes marginal feedback and a video with editorial suggestions

  • The bonuses are only available before January 2026, but you can enroll in the Hearth anytime there is a spot available within the program. The group is capped at 12 people, so members get lots of personalized attention within the program.

  • While this program is not a substitute for high level private 1:1 support, you will still get HEAPS of personal support within the Hearth.  You will get dedicated time on all coaching calls to ask your questions; and you’ll receive support and personal attention on our Telegram chat each week.  Plus, you’ll have two private coaching calls within the program (three if you enter the program for 12 months), so you’ll have Jaime’s heart, mind and eyes on your project as well.

  • I get it.  I am an HSP introvert, as are many of the people I work with.  You can take the group component as you wish to.  You get to decide how you want to show up on group calls and in the community forum on Telegram.  I honor your sovereign choices around how you’ll show up in the community.  That said, these spaces are intended to be a rich source of attuned support, which is also something that helps us sensitives thrive.

  • This program is not a good fit if you aren’t willing to practice your own self-leadership and embody your sovereignty when it comes to your unique author’s journey.

I can and will teach you everything I know and guide you as best as I can, but I can’t make you write your book and I will not write it for you.

You have to want this. And devote yourself to the process.  (Well, you don’t have to, but it will go more like you’d hoped if you do!) You can still come with your creative resistance, we all have it and it is welcome. It’s actually not a problem unless it stops you.

  • Here’s the deal, you get to customize your participation in the program.

The group coaching is really the heart of the work, where you can show up consistently and be met exactly where you are.

You can choose not to use the Telegram option if that’s not your vibe.

You can choose not to attend every Write Now call (especially if it doesn’t work with your creative flow). You can also take that time to work on platform building instead of writing.

You can take in The Author Academy resources and The Author Adventure book only as needed.

This program is not about packing it all in and overwhelming you. It’s about providing a rich field of support you can customize to fit YOU.
